Season 2, Episode 4: From Moscow to Maui

For episode #4 of Season #2, we get Russians! "From Moscow to Maui" tells the tale of a Soviet pilot, Yuri, who defects to the U.S. in 1980 by stealing a Soviet fighter jet and landing in America. A year goes by, and the love of the defector's life is traveling to Hawaii as part of some international track team trials. This is where Magnum comes in. Yuri hires our hero to help his girlfriend defect. Magnum recruits his gang to snatch the girlfriend from her hotel while her boyfriend sits back in the car awaiting his reunion.

The plan is executed successfully and the girlfriend is extracted, only to find out that Yuri(sitting in the car) had been grabbed by the Soviets. Of course, the girlfriend was just bait all along. So, time to call up the FBI and let them know what's happening on U.S. soil, right? No, of course not! It's time for Magnum, Rick, and T.C. to kidnap one of the Soviet "coaches", tie him to a chair, and fire bullets by each ear. This guy gives up the location of where Yuri is being held and the gang is able to get him back before the Russians can smuggle him out of Hawaii. Phew!

Magnum avoids injury this episode, ending his three-episode concussion streak. He does dole out some damage, though. While sneaking the Russian girlfriend out of the hotel, the hotel detective stops Magnum and the woman, as they are creeping suspiciously along a back path. When the detective asks the woman if she is safe with Magnum, she shrugs(as she doesn't speak English). Magnum then gives the detective a knuckle-sandwich and says, "he won't be eating any solid food for awhile"....Not sure the hotel detective is really the bad guy here...

Magnum also punches out an actual bad guy, and T.C. punches out another.
