Season 2, Episode 5 & 6: Memories are Forever

Episode 5/6 of Magnum's 2nd season was a 2hr very special Magnum P.I. "Memories Are Forever". The episode kicks off with Magnum shooting three North Vietmanese soldiers in the crowded streets of Saigon as the war wound down in order to protect a mysterious woman. Thankfully, Magnum wakes up. It was all a dream.

However, later that day, while investigating a divorce case, Magnum thinks he sees the woman from his dreams on a big yacht leaving the harbor. We come to find out that this was Magnum's onetime wife, Michelle, whom he married over in Vietnam. (Vietnamese Michelle was played by Panamanian actress Marta DuBois. Close enough, I guess...)Problem was, she supposedly died there at the end of the war. Through some clever sleuthing, Magnum finds out that the woman on the yacht is, indeed, his wife.

She is married to a Vietnamese general who is in Hawaii to negotiate the return of the remains of U.S. soldiers lost in the war. And there is a lot of spy stuff going on. Is Magnum's onetime wife a spy, kinda, not really, but her current husband is a spy. It get's complicated. In any case, the show ends with a shootout in Little Saigon, Honolulu, whereby Magnum shoots and kills four North Vietnamese officers who were trying to kill his wife. This remarkably resembled Magnum's dream. I guess Thomas is also clairvoyant. Magnum also takes a bullet in the shoulder and busts his arm. His wife returns to Vietnam with her current husband and Magnum is spiritually in a bad place.
